Flora and Fauna on Tsiribihina River
We will pass through lands of dry vegetation and see the daily life of the local people like fisherman, bean and tobacco plantations. We start at the entry of the gorge of Bemaraha and see the high cliffs, pass and swim under the Anosinapela waterfall. There are some variety of groups of brown lemurs and white Sifaka and also the nocturnal mouse lemurs.
During the river cruise we can see crocodiles, chameleons, king fishers, herons, wild ducks and bee eaters. Large sand stone rocks with various endemic plants, like the packi podium or elephant foot. Various caves with bats. Slowly the landscapes will transform and Baobab trees will introduce themselves as we progress to Belo sur Tsiribihina.

Masiakapy nosymena – Tsiribihina River Tour – Nosinapela Waterfall – Begidro village, Berevo village, Ambatomisay village, Tsimafana (130 km)
Day 01: Masiakapy – Cruise by rent motor boat on Tsiribihina River – Nosinapela Waterfall – Camping – Begidro
After having breakfast, we drive to Masiakapy where we take a motor boat. From here, we will start the water river journey on the majestic Tsiribihina river. You can lay down on the boat, relax and enjoy the beautiful landscapes, with many kind of wild animals like Herons, Wild ducks, Parrots, Raptors birds, Kingfishers, etc. Before noon, we across the massif of Bemaraha. It overflows with a fantastic landscape, deciduous forest with its lemurs and marvelous sounds of birds. At noon, we will have a shower under the best waterfall of Madagascar “Nosinapela” and its natural swimming pool. After this nice waterfall, we continue our cruise on the river until the place where we pitch our tents. Here we will be setting camp on a sand bank, build a fire in the night and cook your dinner. Enjoy your meal and listening to the sounds of the river and watch the sun go down. Camping sand back at night.
Day 02: Cruise Tsiribihina river- Berevo – Ambatomisay – Camping
Before leaving the first camping, we have a short visit at Begidro village where we have the opportunity to contact with local people, Malagasy rednecks, a primary school and traditional houses, a tobacco plantation and a big tobacco storage.
We cruise again along the Tsiribihina River by motor boat. And pass to Berevo village, with hospital, catholic school, and gendarmerie.
Late afternoon; we stop at Ambatomisay village for the first BAOBAB Andasonia, we visit the village and prepare for camping and dinner. while enjoying a traditional local dance animation around the campfire. Camping sand back at night.
Day 03: The end of Tsiribihina river – Tsimafana – or Belo sur Tsiribihina
This is a last part of the motor boat trip and also leads us to beautiful landscapes with rice fields on the river banks and Baobabs, mango and jojoba trees, fisherman. At midday we arrive on the end of motor boat trip: Tsimafana (south village).
From here the options are: to go to Morondava, Belo Sur Tsiribihina (north village), or Tsingy de Bemaraha.
